Founder & Chairman
rabbi Maury kelman
Maury Kelman is a rabbi and attorney, chairman of Kedma, and also oversees Route 613, a halakhic conversion program.
orit barnea seif
Orit Seif has been working in the Jewish community for nearly twenty years. Following her graduation from Columbia University, Orit, along with her husband, Yehuda, started the OU's Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus program at the University of Pennsylvania, where she taught and ran innovative programs for University students for four years. Following her work at Penn, Orit practiced law at a tax litigation firm representing Fortune 500 companies. Orit's true passion for working in the Jewish community beckoned, and in 2012, Orit joined a Philadelphia-based Foundation where she started and managed a project geared at enhancing the Jewish Day Schools in the Philadelphia region. Orit made Aliyah to Efrat, Gush Etzion with her husband and five sons. She joined Kedma as its Director in 2018.
Special Programs Manager
Yifat Adler originally hails from Teaneck, New Jersey. While at Queens College Yifat pursued a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and was actively involved the OU-JLIC on campus, helping with programming and creating QC’s original HaMidrasha @ QC. After moving to Israel two years ago, Yifat has been focusing on community work and Jewish Education; Kedma is a perfect blend as it includes both these values. Yifat is looking forward another great year with Kedma.
Special Programs Manager
Merav hails from Teaneck, NJ and has a BA and Master's in Jewish Education from Yeshiva University. She taught at Yeshivat Noam in Paramus, NJ prior to moving to Israel in August 2018. This past year Merav was a fellow in the Eshkolot program for Tanach educators at Matan in Jerusalem. Merav now lives in Katamon and in her spare time can be found playing sports, reading, or on a spontaneous hike. She is excited to be a part of the Kedma team!
Ariella Barker is an attorney, writer and political communications advisor. In 2007, while working as an attorney for the City of New York, Ariella converted to Judaism under Rabbi Kelman's Orthodox conversion program, now called Route 613, which is under the umbrella of Kedma. Since 2016, Ariella has worked for Kedma as our Social Media & Website Manager, where she has built and managed our websites and social media sites, as well as managed our newsletters and other administrative tasks. Ariella received her B.B.A. and J.D. from Emory University and is currently earning a Mid-Career M.P.A. at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government.
